ISO 9001:2026 transition
Does your ISO 9001:2015 certificate need to move to the 2026 version? We measure your gaps and build your transition plan before your next surveillance audit.
The context
The ISO 9001:2026 standard, published in September 2026, replaces ISO 9001:2015. Existing certificates must be transferred to the new version by September 2029; the exact schedule applicable to your certification body should be checked with that body.
This is an evolutionary revision, not an overhaul: the structure, the process approach, PDCA and the risk-based approach remain.
What changes
- Quality culture and ethical behaviour promoted by top management (5.1.1)
- Staff awareness of quality culture and ethics (7.3)
- Climate change in the context and in the expectations of interested parties (4.1, 4.2)
- Actions to address risks and actions to address opportunities now handled separately (6.1.2, 6.1.3)
- Reporting on improvement opportunities in roles and responsibilities (5.3)
- Human factors linked to quality culture in the work environment (7.1.4)
- New informative Annex A and wording aligned with the ISO harmonised structure
